Retroid: Eats Tariffs and Ships to US

Retroid has been a wild ride for both customers and onlookers alike this year. Now they are making a business choice that puts the community first and I’m here for it.

As other manufacturers and sellers have ran from US Tariffs Retroid pushes on. I’ve been trying to post a policy update for tariffs by company in the Retro Handheld space but every time I get ready to post there are changes. So instead of double checking everyone’s policies again I thought it was time to checkout a Win for gamers.

Retroid has been able to procure a shipper to the US during this time while nobody else seems to be able to do it. Not only are they going to continue shipping to the US but they are also going to eat the cost of tariffs… at least for now. There will however be a $20 addition to the shipping charge, which is far better than paying the 145% tariffs.

I’m not sure how long Retroid will be able to continue this stance, but it’s worth taking advantage of while it’s here. The rules around tariffs seem to change by the half hour so if you have been debating picking up a Retroid device it might be now or never.

I think the is not only a Big Win for retro handheld gamers but also a big win for Retroid. Retroid traditionally has been a company though with some faults have put gamers ahead of anything else. That’s why the whole mess around the Retroid Mini was such a shock to the community. Now they seem to be going back to putting gamers first.

This could not only help rebuild Retroid’s reputation but also build even more on their brand. While other manufacturers seem to be putting their hands in the air, Retroid is finding solutions. This is what industry leaders do. It doesn’t hurt that Retroid makes good handhelds as well.

As we get more updates I’ll keep you posted. If we get a pause in changes I’ll get the full policy page uploaded for companies across the industry.
