Have you ever found yourself trying to play a game from a different region and struggled through the dialogue? Anbernic has introduced a solution to make this often experienced frustration a thing of the past with AI.
I’m unsure how long Anbernic has been working on their new Anbernic branded AI solution, but it was a well kept secret (uncommon for Anbernic). This is bringing a new enhancement to many who are unsure of adding patches to games or just don’t want to spend the time doing it. Hello Mother 3.
There are so many AI benefits already being enjoyed in the gaming space and this new feature brings us one more. It isn’t a video translation layer or AI upscaling etc. What it does bring is more access to more games especially in the Retro Gaming space.
There are so many great retro games that are just unreachable to the average gamer short of learning multiple languages. This isn’t as much of an issue in current games as they are mostly designed with global audiences in mind. I have played Castlevania on GBA so many times without being able to read the dialogue that had I not played other games in the series I wouldn’t understand the story at all.
A few years ago someone came out with an English patch for Castlevania on GBA , but had they not this would have saved me countless hours running in circles. As I mentioned above this benefits not just those who don’t know how to patch games but also with games that don’t have patches to begin with.

There is something special about having game guides available when you scrape your games, now you can just ask for it. There is many things I’ve been trying with this new AI feature and so far I mostly haven’t been disappointed.
Benefits
Sure it’s new so as expected there are a few hiccups, but they are using established language models so the mistakes make you laugh so much more. Anbernic was probably using image generation when they came up with the slide, which will also have Anbernic AI at launch.
With the addition of Voice Chat with AI I no longer feel like I need to play with my friends. The AI doesn’t know me well enough yet to knock me for my crappy gaming skills and I know I can say whatever I want to the AI without hurting its feelings… I hope!?

All you need to do to get access to this new AI feature is do a firmware update to any of the handhelds listed above. Once you have completed that start asking questions. Who knows maybe we’ll get smarter while gaming. It can’t hurt, right?
