There is one color controller I have been begging for and it looks like it’s coming.
When I received the Green 8BitDo Ultimate 2 controller from our friends over at AKNES to review I told them there was a specific color I wanted and they told me to standby. About a week later a Yellow 8BitDo Ultimate 2 controller showed up from AKNES, it looks really nice and I was stoked. Both I think are AKNES exclusive colors.
This however wasn’t the color I was waiting for but close enough. If you haven’t tried them, the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 controllers are worth not missing.
Now I find myself working on my review of the 8BitDo Pro 3 controller also sent to me by our friends at AKNES for review. This is turning out to be a great controller option as well. I never did use the Pro 1 or Pro 2 controllers in this line, but I’m glad I’ve been introduced to the Pro 3 (review coming soon). If you are a mix of Nintendo and Playstation gamer, this might be for you.
While I was looking through the AKNES 8BitDo Pro 3 listing on Amazon to see if there is any details I may have missed when I discovered a 4th “unavailable” color option. Right now you can get the 8BitDo Pro 3 in G Classic (GameBoy), Grey (Playstation) and Purple (GameCube) colors.
AKNES is about to do a drop of a color that matches up to no system that I can think of. They look to be releasing a yet to be announced Orange color.
Earlier today I found out there is a new Orange iPhone coming out and now it appears an 8BitDo Pro 3. This is my favorite color and one of my favorite controllers (watch for review soon), couldn’t get a better combo.
Unless this controller is some sort of special edition attached to a game it should be the same price as the others. I haven’t seen anything else indicating an Orange version so I assume AKNES is again releasing another exclusive.
