It was a matter of time for Logitech to release a new handheld or exit the handheld streaming space…
In a recent interview Logitech let their intentions be known for the future of handheld gaming, they were even asked about joining the PC handheld space. Their answer has me thinking maybe I’ll keep my unopened GCloud devices sealed in their boxes [it’s ok I’ve opened 2 already].
Logitech has expressed having other ambitions for the GCloud brand going forward that won’t at least for now include handheld gaming. So new GCloud streaming handheld and when asked about competing with a handheld PC this is where they said they aren’t currently interested.
The Logitech GCloud always seemed like an innovative direction for Logitech to go, though it was in conjunction with launching their GCloud gaming brand. GCloud is mid to high level gaming peripherals which now get attention on their own and likley no longer need the outlying handheld to draw attention.
I’m super bummed about this. Sure the GCloud is underpowered, but that is the point of a streaming device. With its tear drop ergonomic grip design, the handheld from 2022 is still one of the most comfortable Android handhelds on the market today.
This news right after Lenovo announced that their new more powerful C700 streaming handheld will not get a global release. The combination leaves the streaming space a little less exciting as we enter an era where component prices are leading gamers to streaming services.

This leaves us with the capable abxylute One Pro as the primary steaming handheld in the space. Some other affordable options one could use for streaming are the Mangmi Pocket MAX and Ayn Odin 2 Portal for less than the current GCloud pricing along with a few other Android handhelds all of which are more powerful.
Definitely a bummer to see the GCloud fade away but excited to see what Logitech comes up with in the future.
