Powkiddy X35H aka X55 mini Coming Soon?
If you have looked at purchasing the Powkiddy X55 and thought it was too big… Powkiddy has taken your suggestions. Soon we will be graced with the Powkiddy X35H. A shrunken Powkiddy X55 or RGB10Max2 at first glance.
The X35H will actually be a horizontal version of the X35S but you have to admit there is a lot of Powkiddy X55 going on here. If specs stay true to the X35S it’s a near match other than screen size and extra gb of RAM to the X55. With an RK3566 SOC, Mali-G52 GPU and those little bumps to help with ergonomics in common.
The X35H is expected to have the following specs compared to the X55:
X35H Specs
OS: Linux
Display: 3.5” 640×480
CPU: RK3566, quad-core, ARM Cortex-A55 1.8GHz
GPU: ARM Mali-G52
RAM: 1GB LPDDR4X
Battery: 3000mAh
X55 Specs
OS: Linux
Display: 5.5” IPS
CPU: RK3566, quad-core, ARM Cortex-A55 1.8GHz
GPU: ARM Mali-G52
RAM: 2GB LRDDR4X
Battery: 4000mAh
I was a fan of the v2 Powkiddy X55 though it really was just a little too big a lot of the time, but great for Moonlight game streaming. This seems like a huge win. We have seen the quality of Powkiddy handhelds improve in the last year so this has potential to be good. A big factor here is going to be price. With the Powkiddy X55 coming in at $69.99 without promos and the Powkiddy X35S (oddly a handheld Powkiddy made to compete with clones then never advertised) costing $59.99. If you are sacrificing 1GB of RAM along with 2”s of display the price really should be sub $49.99, but I would expect it to release at $59.99 to match its X35S counterpart.
I’m going to ask the outstanding question… do we really need another RK3566 from Powkiddy right now? They definitely have used that SOC more than Anbernic has used the H700 chipset, so far.
