If you are like me you are probably excited to soon be emulating 3DS not trying to make everything fit on a single screen. That problem is about to be a thing of the past for a handful of Retroid and Ayn handhelds.
>> Before I go any further for those looking for the link here is the link! <<

I totally get it, for as much as I write I hate to read. Don’t worry most of the post will be picturee because we have some exciting stuff here. I recently posted about the new Dual 5.5” screen that Retroid is releasing for a handful of their devices.
Fit
With the exception the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 this setup will work on Retroids current line of handhelds and included is the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro which is on super sale for $150 at the time of posting. Unfortunately you also won’t be able to use on the Procket Flip 1 either. I however do full expect someone to find a way to make this work on the RP Classic.

But good news is you will be able to use the Retroid Dual Screen on your Ayn Odin devices as well. This shouldn’t matter if you have an Odin 1 or Odin2 as what you need is display out over Type-C. I don’t think it is a mistake that the info says 5”-7” devices and the RP Mini V1/V2. There will be a separate squ for 6”-7” fitment with a device height of 115mm, sorry Steam Deck and ROG Ally.
This could be telling that the Retroid Pocket 6 that Snapdragon leaked might have a bigger display than the RP5. But we all are aware of the relationship between Ayn and Retroid especially when it comes to accessories. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ayn start selling the Dual Screen in the next couple weeks under the Ayn brand. It’s already coming in the colors of their handhelds as well.
I would guess that this would work on other handhelds as well. I’ve not had good luck with Type-C out on Ayaneo devices, but if you can get it to work Yay.

Angles
The Retroid Dual Screen allows for use at multiple different angles, unlike the Retroid Pocket Flip 1/2. You will get 120, 150 and 180deg stop points. This will be great when you want to use this new display while laying on the couch or in bed.

Colors
We will see 3 colors at launch; Translucent (if you consider that a color), Purple (or indigo or GC or periwinkle depending where you look also Blue if you ask Stubbs from RH) and Black (also often not considered a color). No matter what if you so choose you should be able to get close to matching the color of your handheld. Probably not Ayaneo Tan but the others might be good to go.

Display
The display in the Retroid Dual Screen is a 5.5” 1080P AMOLED that has a resolution of 1920×1080@60Hz. If this sounds familiar it’s because it’s the same screen as the RP5 and RPFlip2. The big winners here are the RP Mini users who are going to get that bigger screen on top 3DS experience.
How it works
The way the Retroid Dual Screen works is similar to snap on controllers for your phone. You will latch the screen to your handheld of choice and plug in the cable to your Type-C display port. The screen does also offer pass through charging incase you want to leave the screen attached.
That brings me to the available accessories for the Dual Screen accessory. There will be a case for the Retroid Pocket 5 that will hold the handheld, grip and Dual Screen. I think a lot of people got that grip, it’s pretty telling now that we have a case that fits it.
When to Get
The Retroid Dual Screen is going up for sale at 930pm EST on Monday June 9th 2025. You can pick yours up >> HERE << !! Wanted to make sure you didn’t miss it. We should be expecting shipping of the Dual Screen to begin on August 5th 2025 (yes this year).
I can’t wait for someone to 3D print a mount to put this on a Retroid Classic!
If anything changes I’ll keep you posted.
