Legion Go 2 is getting hit with rising prices thanks to AI market bets.
Companies since the last half of 2025 have been doing everything they can to keep device costs down on PC parts of all shapes and sizes. We have really started to see the impact on Gaming Handhelds over the last couple of months.
Initially we saw an announcement from ASUS prior to CES 2026 that they are expecting to see product price increases thanks to RAM and Memory component costs. We are still waiting to see the impact this will have on the Xbox Ally handhelds, so far the base model has lost its $499 sale price bringing it back to $599.
We have also seen some manufacturers starting to limit the RAM they are putting into handhelds in the Retro Handheld gaming space. What would easily have had at least 4GB of RAM and 256GB of memory are now releasing with 3GB of RAM and 128GB of memory.

Legion Go 2 Pricing
PC Guide has been following device pricing and noticed that B&H has recently raised the prices on the Legion Go 2. What was the top $1349.99 model is now selling for $1849.99. This hasn’t effected BestBuy yet, but the thought is that’s because the Legion Go 2 is currently out of stock.
Lenovo still has the Legion Go 2 listed out of stock on their website as well. They are likely running into similar inventory issues with RAM and memory that we are currently seeing from Valve on the Steam Deck as well.
This has us wondering what price point we are going to see the Legion Go 2 Steam edition that was announced at CES 2026. There was a rumor that it would be $150 more than the current LeGo 2 running windows.
Seeing as Steam versions are traditionally cheaper as we saw in the Legion Go S Z1E, an increase in pricing previously made no sense. Now this has us thinking the price increase of $150 might be on the current $1349.99 pricing making it $1499.99, $350 less than the Windows version when the price raises to $1849.99.

What’s the play
First I would try and find the Legion Go 2 Z2E in stock somewhere the price hasn’t raised yet. I know they have been hard to get for a while but they randomly show up from time to time.
Next would be getting it used or open box. Right now BestBuy has an Open Box LeGo 2 Z2E for $1249.99. I get a lot of x86 handhelds as open box as it gets real expensive trying to review all of these.
If you are looking for a Lenovo handheld with an 8” display, the LeGo 1 Z1E is still a great handheld and often on sale. The Legion Go S Z1E is also one of my favorite handhelds of the last year and has one of the best LCD displays we have ever reviewed.
Lastly even though it’s easy to argue that the LeGo 2 with its massive OLED display and Z2E SOC is the best handheld currently, it might be time to look at new models. It’s expected we will also see prices on other handhelds raise soon when other manufacturers start getting low on components.
Thoughts
I have this concern that we are just at the beginning of outrageous pricing for computer components. Even if we were to have the AI bubble pop today it very well could be years before the industry recovers from this allocation of needed parts.
I’m not normally a now or never type of person, especially mid RAMmageddon but now might be the best prices we will see for a few years. I’m not convinced that these prices will ever recover.
I wish there was some good advice I could give you. The original LeGo Z1E is often on sale, so definitely look at that. I’ve put LeGo 2 controllers on my LeGo Z1E and it brings it to another level.
Like I stated the Legion Go S Steam version is one of my favorite handhelds to check out in 2025. If you find the Windows version, it’s pretty easy to install SteamOS or BazziteOS on there.
Oh you wanna try your luck grabbing the LeGo 2 hopefully at today’s pricing hit the link below.
Are you going to try and pickup the Legion Go 2 / Go S before prices raise?
