Xbox Lowers GamePass Prices

After new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma took over earlier this year one of the first things after axing the “this is an Xbox” campaign was tackling GamePass pricing.

A leaked memo last week left us thinking we were going to see changes to GamePass but it was difficult to see how they would tackle it. The answer as many speculated seems to be removing Call of Duty for the first year after release.

Staring today GamePass Ultimate will be $22.99 for Ultimate with PC GamePass coming in at $13.99. These are compared to $29.99 and $16.99 currently. No mention of changes to Essential or Premium plans.

If you are a Call of Duty fan you can still play the game at release, but unfortunately you are going to have to buy it. It will be available 1yr after launch. This doesn’t seem to affect other first party titles being included day one on GamePass.

I’m sure the internet will decide if these changes are enough to draw back the large swath of players that left after the last price increase. I still could be convinced with way so I’m busting out the popcorn.
