Anbernic has given us the goods on the upcoming RG Rotate release!
They have made the order page live today, but expect the RG Rotate to show “out of stock” until the release. Sales will be going live at 3AM PDT on May 11th 2026 at the button below.
If you are able to grab the Anbernic RG Rotate in the first 3 days you will save yourself -$8 on the metal version and -$5 on the plastic handheld thanks to the release discount.
There are 2 material options evident by the separate discounts: Plastic retails for $87.99 and Metal retails for $107.99. The plastic comes in Polar Black [normally ‘Polar’ is white strange] and metal in Aurora Silver [sticking to that Polar theme for some reason].
Both versions use what seems to be a sturdy hinge to flip the handheld open. The metal version seems to be a little louder when opening.
The RG Rotate is advertised as a mobile MP3 player that you can play Retro Games on. Oddly for an MP3 player there is no 3.5mm hole, no DAC, it uses an older BT5.0 profile and the speaker is located on the back making it difficult for the user to hear the music.

I’m not sure if it’s the lack of releases this year or my love for this design but I’m really excited for the Anbernic RG Rotate. Being the size of a GBA SP this should make for a great EDC handheld.
