Anbernic released a new Metallic Blue RG34xxSP and it’s as beautiful as you think it is!
The RG34xxSP from Anbernic is turning out to be one of their most popular handhelds in recent years. The RG34xxSP answers that burning question every child had growing up… what if the GBA SP had joysticks and could play N64 games?
In today’s market the RG34xxSP remains affordable compared to other handhelds due to “market conditions” aka AI data centers eating up all the memory. The Anbernic RG34xxSP is also a victim of RAM shortages which might be why they released a new color, to keep people interested.

Recently announced by Anbernic prior to the introduction of the new Metallic Blue colorway, the RG34xxSP has been downgraded from 2GB of RAM to 1GB. This shouldn’t effect GBA gameplay with the handhelds H700 SOC, but it will likely effect 3D systems you can emulate with it.
So I guess we can consider the new color a consolation prize. We haven’t seen this RAM downgrade in other handhelds as the RG34xxSP likley sold out of inventory due to its popularity.
The other factor here is the RG34xxSP being the only H700 retro handheld Anbernic sold that came with more than 1GB of RAM. I’ve never been able to figure out why they released it with more RAM but now it has more no more.

I think I need this RG34xxSP in my life but don’t want to lose a GB of RAM. I’ll probably due a full shell swap with one of my others, if you are interested in a walkthrough to do that same let me know?
Are you interested in the Metallic Blue Anbernic RG34xxSP? Do you think it needs that extra GB of RAM?
