Anbernic RG406H Reviews Incoming

Anbernic has begun delivery of Anbernic RG406H handhelds to select reviewers and the reviews have begun to drop. I still need to finish up my Anbernic RG406V review but lucky for me they have the same internals. *Edit: Anbernic RG406H Page is now live!

While I’m wrapping up I figured I would post some images from Anbernic of the RG406H to see if it interests you. The handheld is slightly larger than the new Retroid Pocket Mini and retails for about $30 less.

The price difference mostly has to do with Retroid including an AMOLED screen and Snapdragon processor in their Mini. Anbernic has now hit the 1 year mark using the same SOC while their most direct competitor is now in their second for their flagship line.

I am kind of digging the RG406H look as I am a big fan of the form and feel of the RG Cube that this seems to be a stretched version of. They have updated to their New Hall-Sticks that are pretty much the sticks on the Retroid Mini and included stacked analog triggers on the New Flagship handheld. Even with the lack of AMOLED, Glass Edgeless Display or more powerful SOC I find myself uniquely interested in the RG406H.

I wish the upgrade from the RG405M of 2023 would have released in metal as Anbernic hinted at early in the year. I do however understand that would have never worked in the current ergonomic form factor and at least they removed that circular grill for the active cooling on the back.

We will likely see the RG406H start pre-sales at the end of next week. Guess I need to hurry up with this RG406V review. *Edit: Checkout the RG406H on Anbernic’s website by clicking here!
