That wasn’t a typo, Anbernic came up with a new way to use a screen on a controller. This could be great for the friends you worry about having a heart attack when they get too into a game. We all have at least one!

History
This won’t be Anbernics first attempt at making a controller. Last year they released what I can only refer to as a little brother controller called the RG P01.
The RG P01 was far from the nicest controller I tested last year. My hope is that the P01 was a learning experience for the creation of the G01.
Expect
I would like expect the RG G01 to be a solid yet somewhat gimmicky controller. Anbernic says the heart rate sensor is to “track your heartbeat in real time during intense boss battles, enjoying an unprecedented level of immersion”.
I’m not sure if I’m the only one, but having a controller freak out because of my heart rate will 10 out of 10 times ruin the immersion for me. At times my smart watch is distracting during gameplay.
I definitely want to tryout the RG G01 in some intense gameplay and hopefully be proven wrong. As gimmicky as the RG G01 seems at first glance, it’s great to see Anbernic trying new technology in the space!
