Ayn to launch NEW Odin2 Mini

The details are a bit scarce and it took scrolling through over a thousand fan posts on Ayn’s Discord to find the latest update on the Ayn “320g” Odin2 Mini.

Like stated previously we knew the “320g” name was likely a placeholder checkout the article here. Now knowing they kept with the Odin name it’s safe to assume that the now named Odin2 Mini is going to be an Android handheld. This will be exciting or disappointing to anyone who got the RP4 Pro because the Ayn Odin 2 was too big for them. Against my previous assumption this will likely compete directly with Retroid.

Retroid Pocket 4 Pro

There is an admin post on the Ayn Discord that states the founder not wanting to make a $275USD handheld. So this could mean 1 of 2 things: The Ayn Odin2 Mini is either going to be less than that making it more competitive around than $200 mark not taking market share from the Odin2 or it’s going to be considerably more competing directly with the Ayaneo Pocket S (or similar).

If this does end up being Android on the economic cost spectrum I’m going to stick with my initial assumption that it will have the Dimensity 1100 or 1200 chipset under the hood… for now. I was pretty convinced that they would be trying their hand at a Linux device as they tried to open the original Odin to this unlocking the handheld for unofficial builds. I believe there was only one successful utilization to this. I do have an Odin 1 Pro on the shelf I haven’t dual booted to Windows yet so look to a future project where I try Linux on that device.

No matter what internals are packed in it would be hard to argue that it looks like a super sexy PS Vita2. As always as we get more information I’ll do my best to keep you updated.
