I’m not sure why MagicX names their handhelds the way that they do but they look very different whatever the reason.
The Touch Zero 40 I believe was supposed to launch last year, but wisely it seems MagicX seems to have abandoned their plans to keep up with Anbernic’s release schedule. This is a welcome change in the market if it means MagicX gets it right prior to launch.
I have tested and been impressed with MagicX’s previous handhelds and have high hopes for the Touch Zero 40. They tend to release handhelds with new body lines and premium joysticks making them standout in the hobby. The Touch Zero 40 seems to have taken some inspiration from the 2DS and that’s ok. With a longer vertical display it should be good for DS emulation and arcade gameplay alike.
These images were shared by MagicX developers making me think they are getting close to releasing this new handheld. I’m not positive which SOC they landed on with the Touch Zero 40 but I know they have been toying with the A133 that can be found in the TrimUI Smart Pro. If that is the SOC here it should have no problem with DS emulation.
As more information is released I’ll keep you updated.
