Everyone has been begging for a dual-screen handheld and Retroid just made their dreams come true… sorta.
Today Retroid announced a New Dual-Screen add-on for the RP5, RP Mini V2 and even the RP4 Pro. This will open a world of possibilities with things like DS/3DS gaming or watching my YouTube videos on one screen while you’re gaming in the other. Just saying… I might keep you entertained.

Display
The New Dual-Screen mod is thought to be sporting the screen currently on the Retroid Picket Flip 2 / Retroid Pocket 5. That display is a 5.5” AMOLED that is 1080p@60FPS. There may be a smaller variant released for the Retroid Pocket Mini V2. That screen would likely be the beautiful 3.92” 1240×1080 AMOLED @60FPS. I would argue since it doesn’t change the size of the actual handheld to keep it the bigger 5.5” screen (but then that 3.92” screen is freaking sharp)!

Competition
This is unfortunate for the DNA Duo that has been nearly a year in the making. The DNA Duo is made for more handhelds than just these 3 and created by fellow YouTuber DNA Mobile Gaming. If you are interested you can find the DNA Duo here. On a positive note there is reassurance that this is a great idea.
Pricing
Though pricing hasn’t been announced yet we all know how much I like to guess. Based off this screen thought to be coming from the RP5 / RP Flip 2, I think it’s safe to say Retroid gets a deal sourcing it. These handhelds are $200-220 and I can only assume that the screen isn’t half the cost, though it is AMOLED. I believe once you add the brackets to hold the screen to your handheld this dual screen will come in Sub $100. Likely the display will be around $60-$80 depending on the margins that Retroid is running.
As always once I have more info including pricing I’ll update you. Retroid is said to release pricing tomorrow so stay close! If you read through every post on this website you should be done around the time I have the info to give you.
Let me know your thoughts on the New Dual-Screen mod coming out from Retroid?
