We are going to skip all the jabber in this post and go straight to the release date and pricing for the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X handhelds.
Release Info
Both the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X (much easier names to type than say out loud) are set to release on October 16th 2025. Because of this display units are already being received at select BestBuys.
Pricing as follows (subject to change due to financial climate):
- ROG Xbox Ally: $549.99USD
- ROG Xbox Ally X: $899.99USD
This should make them competitive against other Windows handhelds with similar specs. The Lenovo Legion Go 2 for example running between $1,099.99USD – $1,349.99USD.
Microsoft is expected to bring their Windows modified for gaming experience to other handhelds eventually, though I would expect them to initially keep it for themselves. If this new Windows does what they are advertising they might cause the Steam team to get off their yachts and back to work.
